Jaycelin Nynraer

Jaycelin "Jay" Nyraer is the main protagonist of the Mocking Jay Chronicles. She is most noticably known as the Mocking Jay, who rampaged across the eastern continent, killing three Vessels before being stopped.

 

 

Jaycelin has bleached white hair that she keeps short. Her original dark red hair lost its colour during her time being possessed. The same happened with her blue eyes which turned ice blue. She has pale skin because she rarely goes outside in daylight. While she is of average height she is very lightweight and nimble. She has several faded scars. And she tends to wear dark and practical clothes.

Most people know her as very guarded, and blunt to the point of rude. She doesn't open up to people easily, and always approached strangers with suspicion. When she does feel save around the person she opens up a little more, for better or for worse. She is very stubborn and rebellious, and rarely conforms to social norms. Position or heritage don't matter to her, if you want her respect you have to earn it. She appears to not care what people think of her, and she doesn't to a part, but she does feel hurt when people treat her badly because of her past. When that happens she becomes offensive rather than defensive. However she doesn't let the fear and anger of ignorant people bother her much beyond that. Should it get personal, she can be very spiteful, and resentful. She doesn't forget easily should her trust be betrayed, and it it very hard to earn back her trust. To her friends she is very loyal, reliable, and caring, and will stand up for them what ever hapens. Because of her past she is very mature and tolerant of other races or nationalities.

Because of her past she doesn't have a strong connection to any place, nor does she liked being trapped in cities. With very little social contact she spends most of her time reading, wandering around the wilderness, and training. She uses her light weight and niblness to fight.

Early Life

She is the second child of Ilthal and Kael Nyraer, and sister to Gale, Sylaer, and Kylyn. They lived in a large house in Vala near the border of Dibre and in the Ressa forest in Subor. Her family was from a noble bloodline but chose to live far away from the population of Vala. She had a loving and peaceful childhood, spending most of her time with her family.

Kidnapping (GC11246)

But when she was 15, soldiers from Dibre attack and kill her family and all the staff, all except Jay and her older brother Sylaer, which she is unaware of. She is taken to Dibre, where she undergoes torture and experiments because her captors want to make her a vessel for a demon. But since they are forcing a demon to take an unwilling victim it is a long and painful procedure for both Jay and the Demon.

Mocking Jay Rampage (GC11252)

After six years they finally succeed, and her captors order her to attack Vala. But they are not powerful enough to control her and the demon, and instead the demon goes on a rampage, hunting down all those who hurt them, not caring for innocents.

Saved (GC11253)

Eventually she is caught by the gods, who use their power to drive out the demon from her body. But even though she is an innocent victim, people still fear her and blame her for what happened, because they don't understand exactly what happened.

Post Rampage

So she runs away, not trusting anyone. Having lost her belief in the gods, since some of her captors were representatives of the gods who had betrayed their cause and gods. Living 3 years alone.
